I currently work for Dream in Color Yarn as their in-house knitwear designer. Dream in Color has some TRULY spectacular yarns and I am making it my mission to get everyone introduced to them and to love them and use them frequently.
I started knitting when I was 11 years old, and quickly taught myself to purl, then do ribbing, then cables, then increasing and decreasing, then lace… and so on. My journey into design was out of necessity. I’m 6’7” and patterns are not written for the length that I need, so what I actually needed was just to write my own patterns.
My design aesthetic is simple and wearable. I often strive to make the garments I design easy to incorporate into my every day life. I’m less concerned with designing an olympic knitting feat, and more concerned with whether or not I will wear the finished garment. I LOVE stockinette stitch, and clean/modern shapes.
