My name is Inese Sang. I am a Latvian knitwear designer, and after spending a decade as an interior designer and a translator in Shanghai, I am currently living in Vancouver with my family.

Knitting for me is a visual language of observations. A translation of sorts.
I find continuous inspiration in nature, urban settings and my Latvian heritage, and bring it into my designs through textures, colours and moods.

My work in guided by the love of slow & intentional design process, and I enjoy taking time to swatch and find stitches that bring out the best in the yarn I am working with.
I love exploring the correlation between textures, colours and levels of contrasts within my patterns, creating pieces that are engaging to knit and timeless to wear.
My pattern instructions are simple and to the point - focused on clarity and ease, without the added visual noise.

Growing up near the Baltic Sea and observing the everchanging grey undertones of sea and sky, the love for colour grey is engrained in my heart, and I am gravitating towards the muted hues that have a gray undertone to them, too.
