I learned how to knit in 2011, when I moved to West Virginia, but I really found the fiber community around 2016/2017. Shortly after that I also found Ravelry. Within about a year, I started buying patterns and yarn from indie dyers. In 2019, my knitting really expanded - thanks to the Ravelry and IG knitting communities!

2019 was also the year I started to test knit - I’ve been a regular on yarnpond since then, to build my skills and get an inside view of the design and test process. In 2020, I started tech editing for others, and in March 2022 I completed a pattern grading course. This coincided with my first accepted pitch for a published pattern - Tahoe, in Nomadic Knits issue 12!

My true favorite knit is a great pullover, usually a raglan. But I seek to publish and share designs I find fun and practical over time. The goals are to feature classic lines but also include a panel, special stitch, interesting construction technique, or other small detail that can take the finished pieces to the next level. I would like to keep the composition approachable for multiple skill levels, but flexible enough for customization. Think of my patterns as a canvas that you get to paint as your own!

I also seek to be size and fiber inclusive, so if a design does not have a measurement you need - connect with me. We might be able to collaborate to expand the sizing of an existing pattern. If you want to try the pattern in a different fiber - connect with me. It’s possible that I, or a tester, has tried a different fiber with the pattern and can give some feedback.
