Shetland Fusion - Shetland Lace knitting with a Modern Twist
7 shawls, 6 patterns.
6 are already complete and the 7th is a bonus shawl - started before covid - Summer Shells features beautiful shetland shell patterns. It will be added around the first of August.
Shawl 1
Plumier I – a stole constructed in two pieces and grafted in the center. Presented in colourblock format and knit with a Shetland Style wool – Bio-Shetland by BC Garn
Shawl 2
Plumier II – a stole constructed in a single colour and in one piece. There is a small graft at one corner, utilizing elements from Plumier I. Knit with a modern silk and linen blend – Flyss by Handmaiden.
Shawl 3
Lizzies’ Hap or the Roamin’ Hap – a large square hap style shawl with a reversible fair-isle border. All elements are Shetland in origin but are combined in a shawl to create a modern look. Roamin’ is knit with Millarochy Tweed by Kate Davies.
Shawl 4
Shetland Fascinator – just finished test knitting – tentative release date end of February. A short Stole like shawl, (as we no longer wear head shawls of this type) based on the description of a Victorian Fascinator. Beaded tassels are on the version as started but instructions for traditional tassels will be included. knit with Findley Lace by Juniper Moon Farm - basic sample.
A FASCINATOR IS A LIGHT, SOFT HEAD COVERING GATHERED IN WITH TASSELS AT BOTH ENDS. ….. Shetland Wheel - A mid-size circular hap style shawl with a “wagon wheel” center construction - shown in both laceweight and a light fingering.

Summer Shells - a half pi construction featuring shetland shell patterns.
