Winter Star Blanket
This blanket was inspired by several things: cosy winter evenings by the fireside, twinkling snow flakes and stars, and some beautiful tiles I’d seen. I know some people see these squares as stars and others as snow flakes. I think that’s part of the joy of the pattern - that different people see different things in it!
The blanket also makes a great partner piece to my Winter Forest Cushion.
This is a crochet pattern for a blanket or throw made using tapestry crochet.
The pattern includes photos, a chart, full written instructions and tips for making the blanket. It would be suitable for a beginner with some experience or an intermediate crocheter looking to try tapestry crochet for the first time.
The finished blanket, made with aran yarn, measures 92 x 111 cm. However, you could easily adjust the size by making more or fewer squares.
Yarn requirements for the above size blanket as shown in pictures
Stylecraft Special Aran:
A: 2 x 100g balls of Silver
B: 6 x 100g balls of Teal
C: 1 x 100g balls of Copper
The pattern is provided in both UK and US crochet terms.
