The Whimsy Waves Bag is made from the bottom up using the tapestry crochet technique for the body of the bag to form the fun wave design. The bag strap is clipped onto D-rings at the end, or as an alternative you can crochet your own bag strap.

This crochet bag/purse measures approximately 9.5” wide and 7” tall, not including strap. The pattern includes instructions on how to make your bag larger.

This crochet pattern is easy to follow and intermediate-beginner friendly, but still fun for more experienced crocheters.

Materials:
• Worsted Weight Yarn (#4) – Approximately 150 yards of worsted-weight yarn (cotton recommended) are needed in total for this project. This works out to about 50 yards of each color.
• 4 mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle to weave in ends
• Scissors for cutting yarn
• Zipper (optional) – 9” zipper (a longer zipper can easily be trimmed to size)
• Optional purse strap materials (or you can crochet a long strap and sew it onto the bag):
o Two “D-rings” for attaching bag strap – 0.5” size was used for the bag pictured
o Purse strap with clips on the ends
