Vanilla Heirloom
Pay What Works: Aiming to balance fair and sustainable designer compensation & a realistic representation of the work that goes into knitwear design and accessibility, we’re offering a Pay What Works model with this pattern where you can choose a price that is accessible to you.
The full pattern price as shown on the right reflects the work that went into creating this design best. If a different price point is more accessible to you, you can use the following codes to purchase this pattern at a price that works for you (a Pay What Works implementation that, to my knowledge, was first initiated by Frenchie, thanks so much for the inspiration!):
No code: 20€ (100%)
Sustainablist80: 16€ (80%)
Sustainablist60: 12€ (60%)
Sustainablist50: 10€ (50%)
Sustainablist40: 8€ (40%)
Please note that depending on your location VAT will be added when you check out.
Vanilla Heirloom is destined to become a beginner knitter’s very first handmade sweater, and it’s also an excellent choice for more experienced knitters who are looking for a relaxing-to-make wardrobe staple. This pattern uses only a small set of techniques – you should be able to knit, purl, and do basic increases (M1R / M1L) and decreases (k2tog / k2tog-tbl) – and it’s knit from the top down, which means there’s no seaming involved and you’ll be able to try it on as you go to determine your favourite length.
To give you a lot of options, we included instructions for 8 sizes and 5 yarn-weight specific versions for each size, so you can use whatever yarn weight you’re most comfortable with. In addition, the pattern comes with lots of helpful information, e.g. on choosing the right size, on gauge, on customising parts of the pattern.
