Twisted journey
Inspiration:
This sock pattern is the first of my designs from a collection entitled “The Journey”.
The design was created on a train journey that I was on for four hours from Cheltenham (in the Cotswolds) to Skipton (in Yorkshire). The cables represent the twists of the train track on my journey.
Construction:
The construction is a toe up sock with a gusset and slip stitch heel end mid calf.
Materials:
Eden Cottage Tempo 4 ply (75% Superwash Merino/25% Nylon)
384m/420 yrds per 100g skein
Shade used: Dandelion
West Green Loft Yarns 4 ply (75% Superwash Merino/25% Nylon)
400m/437 yrds per 100g skein
Sades used: Blush and Granite
Sizes:
Small (3-5UK/36-38EU),
Medium (6-8UK/39-42),
Large (9-11UK/43-46EU)
Foot length:
Small ( 9”/23cm)
Medium ( 10”/25.5cm)
Large ( 11”/28cm)
Foot circumfarences:
Small (7”/18cm)
Medium (8”/10.5cm)
Large (9”/23cm)
Gauge:
32 sts x 48 r over 4”/10cm Stocking Stitch on 2.25mm ndls when blocked.
Needles and notions:
Circular needles, 2.25mm (M) 2.25mm (L) 2.25mm (or size to obtain gauge) 80cm cable (for magic loop), Cable Needle, Darning needle to weave in ends, 8 stitch markers
The pattern is layed out in a way you can print as a booklet
