Traquair Hat and Mitts
A hat and mitts set in a variety of herringbone stitch (yarn quantities are for both hat and mitts!). They’re knitted flat — the stitch is fully described in the instructions — and then seamed using a three-needle bind-off. The fabric is dense and cushy, with a wrong side that’s as lovely as the right side. Designed to make the most of speckle-dyed singles yarns, they can both be worked from one skein plus less than half a skein of contrast yarn. Or use a plain yarn throughout with a bold highlight.
