The 2024 Knitmas project is - drumroll, please! - TWO projects

You can choose to knit a scarf or a wrap!

The Scarf & Wrap are knit on the bias, share the same motifs, and can be knit with the same kits. The only difference is the width; the scarf is narrower than the wrap.

Each project requires three different color skeins of fingering-weight yarn.

Can you help me choose colorway combinations?

Absolutely! We curated seven Knitmas Kits featuring Emma’s Yarn and four Knitmas Kits featuring Bow Fiddle Yarns. Although the kits have been retired, you can use them as a reference when choosing your colors.

You will need three different color skeins of fingering weight yarn.

Join us in the Nomadic Knits Ravelry group or the Nomadic Knits Facebook group to share your progress and cheer one another on!

Sizes: S (W); Scarf (Wrap).

Finished Measurements:
   Length: approx. 60”/ 150cm+.

   Length along the bias/CO edge: 10.5”/ 26cm (15.75”/ 39.5cm)

   Width: 7.5”/ 19cm (9.75”/ 24.5cm)

Needles: US 5/ 3.75mm needles or the size needle needed to achieve gauge. You will also need needles one size up from your gauge needles if you tend to knit colorwork more tightly. Use your preferred style of needles for knitting flat.

I used US 5/ 3.75mm & US 6/ 4mm 24” circular needles.

Gauge: 19 sts and 32 rows = 4”/ 10cm in garter st, blocked.

Yarn: fingering weight in three colors; 400 yards/ 100g each.

Samples knit in: Nomadic Knits Twelve Days of Knitmas 2024 kits.

3 skeins: Emma’s Yarn Singles (100% Superwash Merino; 400 yards/ 100g)
or
3 skeins: Bow Fiddle Yarns Merino Silk (80% Superwash Merino, 20% silk; 400 yards/ 100g)

Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, cable needle.

◊ This pattern is knit flat, on the bias, creating a long parallelogram with i-cord edges, and contains a variety of lace/texture/stitch motifs.
