Taimi
Taimi (Finnish, Meaning ‘seedling’) is a circular wrap that can be worked in two sizes: a wider neckwarmer cowl or a longer infinity scarf that can be worn loosely around the neck as a cowl or worn around the shoulders as a light cover up for warm spring and summer evenings.
Reminiscent of growing shoots, the sinuous lace is based on a traditional pattern in which the lace stitches are worked on both sides. However, to make this project a beginner lace knitter friendly, the wrap is worked circularly and all the patterning is done only on the right side. This, along with the short repeat, makes the lace very easy to work and quick to memorize. The lace can be embellished with glass beads, which add some beautiful sparkle and texture to the finished project (120 6/0 4.0mm seed beads for the infinity scarf, optional).
Finished Size
Infinity Scarf: 11” wide and 80” circumference
Cowl: 14” wide and 30” bottom / 21” top circumference

Note: Correct gauge is not critical for this project, but your final measurements and yardage requirements may vary if your gauge is different.
