AND a hat! :D

This project is created using a series of short rows for the ruffle, and is easily converted to different sizes for both the hat and the skirt.

There is also described a Picot BO method, which is used for the adorable trim at the top of the skirt/hat.

The pattern sample uses the red round loom by Knifty Knitter (31 pegs), which creates an ensemble for a 4-12 month old (depending on size of the baby) but any loom of similar gauge can be used. Also, this project can be easily made on other looms in the series to create different sizes, as is also explained in the instructions.

Finished Size:
2.5” ruffle height; 1.75” ribbing/pom-pom height; 7.5” total height; 8” total width; 16” circumference

Gauge:
approx. 2.25 sts x 4.5 rows per inch

Needed:
-Large gauge loom with at least 31 pegs: 31 peg red round Knifty -Knitter used in sample.
-(MC: body of skirt/hat) #4 Worsted Weight yarn: approx. 1/3rd skein of Vanna’s Choice Baby in lamb used in sample; 100% acrylic, 170 yards per skein.
-(CC: ruffle and trim) #5 Bulky Weight yarn: approx. 1/2 skein Plymouth Yarn, Colorspun Chunky in #7124 used in sample, 75% acrylic, 26% wool, 143 yards per skein.
-1 yard of decorative ribbon or cording for drawstring/bow
-Loom tool, crochet hook, tapestry needle.

Notes:
-Techniques used: U-Stitch, Purl, Panel Knit, Short Rows, Crochet CO, Basic BO, Seaming.
- For hats/skirts of another size, just switch to another size loom in the same series, using the general size guidelines for hat making, matching the number of wedges made to the number of pegs on the loom.
-This pattern uses one strand of yarn held throughout while using the #5 bulky weight (CC) and 2 strands of yarn held throughout while using #4 worsted weight (MC).
