I started this blanket as a stash buster. I had less than half a ball left of each of the pattern colours: Grape, Lavender, Aspen, Parma Violet, and Pale Rose. A baby blanket was the perfect project to use these up! I love the beauty and majesty of Sea Turtles and therefore once the idea of this blanket came into my head I couldn’t stop until I had completed it.

This baby blanket is approximately 90cm x 90cm

This uses 3 balls of the background colours and less than half a ball of the five pattern colours in Stylecraft Special DK.

As a part of the process of writing up my pattern I spent some time researching Sea Turtles, their habitat and what can be done to help these creatures, many species of which are endangered. After reading about the dangers they face from both natural and human sources, I knew I wanted to contribute to their conservation in some way. By purchasing this pattern I will be donating around 10% of the income that I make over the first 2 months of the release to the Sea Turtle Conservancy (so that will be £0.50GBP per full price pattern sold during this time)
