A blended intarsia border knit along with a simple short row shaped shawl showcases that special skein that begged to be brought home but now sits on the shelf waiting for a project that will show it off. The special skein can be anything that caught your eye in a weight range from lace to sport (14-18wpi)and could even be a precious hank of handspun. The Cascade Alpaca Lace is recommended for the body of the shawl but any suitable laceweight in a color that complements the border yarn will be fabulous.
