Sophia
Combining speckled yarn with a semi solid, Sophia begins with a garter tab and grows into an elongated triangle. Alternating garter stitch and simple lace keeps your interest while creating a stunning shawl.
Skill Level:
Advanced Beginner: Knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, yo, m1l, m1r, ktbl
Yarn:
Approximately 650 - 700 yards 640 - 685 meters fingering weight yarn.
Samples shown using:
- Contrasting Color - 1 Skein The Flying Kettle Caspertine (80% Merino, 10% Nylon, 10% Cashmere; 400 yards 366 meters per 100 g)
- Main Color - 1 skein Madelinetosh Sock (100% merino; 395 yards 361 meters per 100g).
Needles:
US 6 4.0 mm 32 inch circular. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.
Gauge:
Approximately 20 stitches by 32 rows = 4” 10 cmin stockinette stitch after blocking.
Size:
74 inches 188 cm by 23 inches 88 cm afterblocking.
Construction:
Knit flat.
