Sita's Special Shawl
This is a great, quick gift-knit!
I designed this gorgeous shawl as a Christmas gift for a dear friend – the deep red of the 100% heavy-worsted wool, the simple yet elegant lace-work design and the fact that it’s knitted up on #13s make this a great gift.
The generous shawl (approx 24- x 72-inches) will keep Sita cozy all through the Christmas season and on through the deep, dark days of winter.
The design is charted and written out row-by-row and uses approx. 475 yards (sample used one skein of Cascade’s Eco-+ ).
• this shawl is knit in one piece from one edge to the other
• there is a 5-stitch garter border on each edge (included in directions below); make sure to ALWAYS slip the FIRST st of every row to create a nice, chained edge (included in directions)
• stitch markers will help you keep track of the repeats (and the 5-st garter border on each edge)
