Simply Nestled Hat
NB: VAT or state tax will be applied to the purchase price during the paypal transaction where relevant.
This pattern produces a stocking cap that works either with a rolled brim or as a slouch hat. The longer 5” edging of k1, p1 rib creates a snug fit for the ears and the use of ribbing overall allows flexibility in sizing.
This makes it an ideal pattern for charity knitting or gift-giving.
Optional Modifications. By using chunky or bulky yarn (83 yds; gauge = 13 sts x 13 rows) instead (or 2 strands of worsted held together), you get a looser fabric, suitable for wear in the fall and spring; using the bulky yarn and reducing needle size to US 10.5 or US 11 will result in a youth or teen-sized hat that is more dense.
Construction. The design is knit bottom up, in the round, which allows you to make adjustments on length before beginning decreases to suit your taste and availability of yarn. An elementary design, only requiring knowledge of CO, K, P, and simple increases and decreases makes this pattern suitable for knitters of all levels.
The Nestled Series. This pattern is a sister design of the “Simply Nestled” scarf and the “Nestled Mitts” and is a great option for using up the excess yarn from either project.
