Sarah-Dippity Skirt
Sarah-Dippity is a skirt.
It is also a guide on how to combine woven and hand knit panels to make a custom garment as flexible and fun to make as it is to wear.
These instructions make a number of assumptions—not least, that you know how to weave, knit, and stitch with needle and yarn. Happily, the Sarah-Dippity is super flexible (as garment and idea), and thus a vehicle for experimentation no matter what your level of expertise.
If you don’t weave, use a scarf you have lying around. Those with tailoring experience might fancy things up. Others will prefer simplicity. Please your self—please! There are so many ways to do things that I cannot pick just one. If you can find the right scarf-shaped object, you don’t even need to weave. Cloth and humans, evolving as they have together, are both wonderfully adaptable.
