Rodanthe
This pattern is available as a

A romantic, lace shawl with an unusual construction, Rodanthe makes the best out of this luxury yarn you’re saving for a special pattern.
Although it is recommended that you have some previous experience in openwork, I think you’ll find that you can easily follow the step-by-step instructions which come with detailed charts.
I wouldn’t call this a “mindless” knitting project; it certainly is the kind of knitting one will enjoy for the variety beauty of its motifs, as well as for its “heirloom” style.
