Knit a cowl with classic Shetland colorwork motifs! Rionnag (’star’ in Gaelic) is a lovely lightweight cowl featuring motifs from A Shetlander’s Fair Isle Graph Book. It’s perfect for cooler Spring days, or tuck it into a coat for those colder days.

I was inspired to create this design by the beautiful heathered colors of Tukuwool Fingering yarn. Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift or Jamieson & Smith 2-ply would also be perfect for this cowl. Worked in four colors with only two colors used per row, Rionnag would make a great project if you’re looking to try allover colorwork before committing to a garment project.
