Raster Cowl
In the digital art world, images are either vector (lines to make an image) or raster (blocks of color to make an image).
The idea for this cowl comes from raster images. The colorwork represents the blocks of color that make up an entire image. But there’s a twist. Literally!
This cute little cowl is knit in the round on a US 6 needle and has a simple 4 st, 6 round repeat; you can choose to follow the chart provided or the written instructions. Before joining the two ends, you’ll give one end a simple twist (there’s a diagram to show you what to do!) then join using mattress stitch to complete the tube design of the cowl.
What makes this design unique is the Vixen DK Blank! It’s been dyed in a gradient but the two ends are the same color to make the transition virtually seamless. If you haven’t worked from a blank before, you’re in for a treat because there is no need to wind a cake or ball: each Vixen Blank is marked on the edge that unravels so you can immediately get to work!
