The cable pattern on this beanie and mitts was inspired by the recently pollarded trees on one of my regular walks in north Kent where I live. I then saw the colour of the this yarn (produced near by) and it was exactly one of the greens I was seeing on my walks too.

The original yarn is Longcroft Longwool 100% Wensleydale Wool DK (sold through The Yarn Dispensary) but these items will be lovely in any crisp wool rich DK yarn.
