With its satisfyingly intricate geometric cable pattern, the Parterre Hat evokes the puzzle-like arrangement of flower beds in formal gardens. The pattern includes three sizes, each requiring a single skein of DK weight yarn. Pair it with the coordinating Parterre Scarf for a classic gender neutral set.

Skills & Techniques
The Long Tail Cast On (optional), working a small circumference in the round, working four-stitch cables, and working decreases. Both charts and full written instructions are provided.

Materials Needed
1 skein of Hedgehog Fibres Tweedy (50% Falkland Merino Wool, 37.5% Recycled Wool, 12.5% Thread Waste; 252 yds/230m per 100g skein), or

Samples shown in the colours ‘Dreaming in Light’ (Size 1, yellow) and ‘Lullaby’ (Size 2, lavender).

You will also need a cable needle, 1 end-of-round stitch marker, and a tapestry needle for weaving in the ends.
