Opulent Loop Stitch Jacket
This is not a finished product, it is a crochet PATTERN for the jacket, NOT the finished jacket. Refunds are NOT available. Pattern use UK terms, and is in English.
Not for commercial use.
This design is the ultimate in dopamine dressing, a big, warm hug of a jacket. It’s a riot of colour and texture, a technicolour dream, in the softest mohair with pops of gold lurex. Worked is loop stitch and using the intarsia technique, you will be making a piece of art when you complete this!

PATTERN NOTES
This design uses the intarsia technique which uses two or more colours in a row to create a multi-coloured fabric. Unlike tapestry crochet, you drop the yarn not in use and only ever work with one colour at a time, rather than encasing the colour not in use as you go. You do this by using a new ball for each separate area of colour across a row. You can make small bobbins of yarn for each new area of colour to make it more manageable.
A chart is provided to show the colour of the stitches, with each square representing a stitch. Begin from the bottom RH corner of chart and work all odd rows from right to left (RS), and even rows from left to right (WS). Work dc on RS rows and Loop St on WS rows. When making foundation ch, work from left to right, and check st count carefully before beginning. Yarn K is held double throughout.
Armhole, sleeve and shoulder shaping is done by slip stitching across sts at beg of row, and by leaving sts at the end of the row unworked. For single decreases, sl sts can be used, or work 2 sts tog at beg and end of rows. If needed a stitch marker can be used to keep track of decreases. On side and sleeve seams work last st on Loop Stitch rows in dc, to make sewing up easier. Chart does not show extra ch needed for foundation row, but it is included in the pattern instructions.
As with all colourwork, always change to a new colour of yarn in the last pull through of the previous stitch.
