I love mini skeins, especially when I see a set looking like little jewels of yarn side by side, and that’s what inspired this shawl. I wanted to use small amounts of colourful yarn against a neutral background and create something that would work with a set of colours, your own pick and mix stripes and even as a stashbuster for the leftovers I regularly have after knitting socks.

It uses 100g of the main colour and 7 x 20g mini skeins of 4ply. For the sample I used a full skein of 4ply and a mini skein pack in the same yarn.

This is a regular triangular shawl worked from a garter stitch tab start and increasing with yarnovers at the edges and centre until it reaches its full width.

The lace sections are separated by stocking stitch and the repeat should be straightforward to get used to.
