Nile Delta
A river delta is a landform, shaped like a triangle when a river meets a slower-moving body of water like an ocean, lake, or reservoir. This scientific definition of a delta cannot describe the beauty of a river delta seen from a birds-eye view.
The shawl is worked with just one colour per row. Intricate 3/2/3 slip-stitch cables (described in the pattern) are the main feature on the body of the shawl. The lace border is a unique variation of the Feather and Fan pattern.
Yarn
Fingering / 4 ply
100 g / 3.53 oz = 400 m / 437 yards.
Three contrasting colours are needed.
Body of the shawl:
• CA (light blue in the sample) 100 g / 3.53 oz = 400 m / 437 yards
• CB (rust in the sample) 80 g / 2.82 oz = 320 m / 350 yards
Border of the shawl:
• CC (petrol in the sample) 100 g / 3.53 oz = 400 m / 437 yards
• CB (rust in the sample) 20 g / 0.71 oz = 80 m / 87 yards
Gauge is not crucial for this pattern but it will affect the finished measurements and amount of yarn needed.
