Mono Sweater
SOON AVAILABLE IN FRANCAIS and ITALIANO
MONO SWEATER is a roomy sweater in stockinette stitch with elegant dotted lines along the shoulders, armholes, and neckline.
The dotted lines are worked in a straightforward slipped stitch pattern – what looks like a stranded pattern is knitted with one color at a time.
MONO SWEATER is worked in stockinette stitch and appears ‘almost’ like a uni-colored sweater.
The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. First, stitches are cast on for the shoulders which are worked back and forth to the bottom of the armholes.
Back and front sections are then joined to form the body which is worked in the round.
Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and finished with a cuff in twisted rib.
Short rows are worked on both front section, back section and sleeves to create a good fit.

How much positive ease you like in your clothes varies from person to person. Measuring some of your favorite sweaters can help you choose the perfect size.
The length of the sleeves depends on your height and how much positive ease you choose for your sweater. A rule of thumb is that the bigger the positive ease is, the shorter the sleeves ought to be.
The positive ease and sleeve length of my versions of the MONO SWEATER are as follows:
Version 1: 44 cm positive ease, sleeve length 46 cm.
Version 2: 33 cm positive ease, sleeve length 52 cm.
Needles
Circular needles
4 mm (40 and 80/120 cm)
5 mm (40 and 80/120 cm)
Gauge
18 sts × 24 rows in stockinette stitch on a 5 mm needle = 10 × 10 cm
The yarns which I used for the MONO SWEATER tend to stretch after washing.
My gauge before washing was 19 stitches and after washing the stated 18 stitches.
