The Modern Luxe Throw is a different take on the crocheted blanket. It’s still blankety: cozy, warm, and super cuddly! But it’s also very unique - incorporating different colors, sections, and stitches, with a bold graphic look.

The Modern Luxe Throw starts off as a chevron with filet squares, then that’s all straightened out and a big field of double crochet and stripes are capped with more dc rows that echo the filet squares from earlier - and the judicious use of back loop only stitches adds even more interest.

While still basically rectangular, the Modern Luxe Throw is asymmetrical, yet balanced. When I showed it off to friends and family, they said it made them think of everything from fluttering pennants and medieval flags to something from Where the Wild Things Are! Like modern art, it’s open to interpretation - and you can make it yourself with this free crochet pattern!
