Micci
I really enjoy wearing crop tops, so for a long time I have worked on such projects (or at least sketched some). Inspired by an unusual speckle cotton yarn and the thought of integrating some pretty lace, I created Micci.
Micci is a fairly simple design, worked flat and bottom up. It makes use of an intricate lace pattern which is original and was created based on Naomi Parkhurst’s ‘Secret Code’ Lace Project.
Naomi’s project is an ingenious method, in which one takes a word, encodes it, creates a chart and then works out different permutations of increases & decreases. Sounds complex? (it isn’t!) Read (and see) more in Naomi’s blog: https://gannetdesigns.com/
For this particular lace design, Micci is the code word, for which I have used my own encoding algorithm.
Instructions are given in written abbreviated form and charts.
Micci means sunshine in Corsican.
