Maya the Mercorn combines everyones favourites, mermaids and unicorns together into one toy. The pattern contains a list of materials and instructions required to make your own mercorn.

I have made Maya in two different sizes. The smaller size is made using In the Zone yarn by Hobbycraft’s Knitcraft brand and comes out and 8” long and 4” wide. The larger Mercorn is made in Aldi’s Baby Yarn and measures 18” long and 7” wide. This pattern is easily adapted to suit any yarn you have you will just need to adjust the hook size and saftey eye size. (my smaller mercorn uses 10mm eyes, whilst the larger uses 15mm eyes). However, whichever size yarn you decide to use a ball of 100g in each of your colours choices will easily get you a mercorn with plenty to spare.
