Makisu Mittens
I love a good basic mitten pattern but they always seem to be a bit gappy between the cuff and the thumb gusset. By carrying the ribbing up the outside edge and onto the thumb there’s enough grip to keep the mitten snug around your lower hand. The ribbing almost disappears between cuff and thumb and grows organically for the thumb gusset making the better fit seem like magic! Simple patterns like this let gorgeous hand-dyed yarns take the stage.
