Four friends, four hats - all with poms!
Like many designers on Ravelry, the 4 of us work alone and far from our peers, but we are lucky enough be a part of this giant social circle we call Ravelry. Thanks to that connection, we used to ping each other occasionally about things - and then those pings grew into snippets of conversation, and over time, those snippets have grown into a constant 4-way thread of text. It’s become our virtual coffee shop, where we can touch base and share our thoughts and have a bit of company each day.
And in one of those conversations we started talking about the perfect pom pom hat…. this collection is what happened next! The hat is translated a little differently by each of of us, but they are warm and fun and have filled up our inboxes for weeks!
Different yarns, different stitch patterns, different shapes - but each one a cozy and wintry hat that we would be wearing if we could tramp through the snow to visit the other three at a real, live shop with a fireplace and steamy mugs to drink from…
My contribution is London Fog, named after my absolute favorite coffeeshop treat. Featuring a series of gradually decreasing purl ridges on a clean stockinette background, it reminds me of the deep, slightly bitter tang of Earl Grey tea melding with the soft flavors of vanilla and milk. Plus, a Toft Alpaca Shop pom pom on top is as light and frothy as foam!
