Knitquick - original
The pattern contains 5 different stitch counts so that you can use anything from aran - sock/fingering weight.
Updated July 30th, 2019 to include written instructions - please be sure you are using the July 30th version.
clarification - each 8-row repeat adds 8 sts EACH SIDE
The knitted item has a long narrow shape with pointed ends which is very versatile - can be worn as cowl, shawl or scarf (see photos).
For me the most important thing was that it was easy to knit
(I designed it during the heatwave when I still wanted to knit, but couldn’t concentrate very hard), but it also has other things I like:
- lots of length for wrapping but using limited yardage
- easy to pick up and put down
- WS rows knit the stitches as you see them (so no thinking)
- probably works with a yarn you already have
It turned out to be so easy and relaxing that this has turned out to be the first in a series and I also plan to publish a recipe so that you can make your own version if you like.
I hope you’ll enjoy knitting this as much as I did.
Oh, and during testing acsparky89 mentioned that this would like nice with a leather cuff. I hadn’t even seen one until then, but this shape is perfect for a cuff because you won’t have unwanted bulk where the pointed ends overlap.
If I had known about cuffs, I might have designed this specifically for that !! ☻
