This is a pattern for a pair of gloves and matching hat worked in the round and from the cuff up using the stranded colourwork technique.
yarn:
Jumper Weight by 5 Sisters Farm; Light Fingering; 100% Shetland 250yds (228m) / 50g / 2oz
approximate yarn amounts:
Gloves (Hat)
colour A (Apple; dark grey) - 25g (20g)
colour B (Poppy; med grey) - 15g (12g)
colour C (Plum or Linden; black/brown) - 10g (15g)
colour D (Bramble, light grey/white) - 15g (10g)
colour E (Coral, any accent colour) - 5g (5g)
needles: choose below for gloves / 2.25 & 2.5 mm for hat
2.0mm (us no 0) DPNs 6in/15cm; set of 5
2.25mm (us no 1) DPNs 6in/15cm; set of 5
2.5mm (us no 1.5) DPNs 6in/15cm; set of 5
2.75mm (us no 2) DPNs 6in/15cm; set of 5

gauge:
Some knitters work stranded and single-coloured at different gauges. Change needles, as needed, to keep gauge the same throughout.

Hat
34 sts x 34 rows = 4in/10cm measured over stranded stockinette on 2.5mm needles
