Inspiration Capelet
I love Barbara G. Walker’s pattern books. Pages and pages of inspiration…
I have several of her books - and I always come down with a case of the Ooh’s every time I look through one. Ooh, that’s so pretty! Ooh, look at that one! So when I found the Tulip Bud Edging pattern in A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns, I had an Ooh! moment.
Then I had an uh-oh moment: the tulip bud edging is worked from side to side. What could I make with this? I didn’t want to add the edging later - I wanted to add the edging as I knit - so I could continue to ooh as I worked. A scarf? A hat? But I wanted something summer-y that I could wear over a tank top or a nice dress.
Thus, this Capelet was born! Easy to work, side to side, instead of top-down or bottom-up. Works up fast, too!
