Houndstooth Baby Blanket
ABOUT
This blanket uses alternating single crochets and double crochets while changing colors each row to create the houndstooth stitch. One main color is used while transitioning 4 or 5 accent colors to create the appearance of an ombré/fade until your blanket reaches your desired size. Feel free to choose any colors you love; your blanket does not have to fade as the sample blanket does - bright sections of color would be just as lovely!

PATTERN NOTES
Skill Level: Beginner
Sizing: This blanket is written as a baby blanket. To adjust the sizing, begin with any odd number of chains (this establishes your width), and work the repeats until reaching your desired length.
Stitch Counts: Stitch counts are listed after each row in italics. If no stitch count is given, there has been no change since the previous row.
Turning Chain: The turning chain does not count as a stitch anywhere in this pattern.
Reversible: There is no right side or wrong side to this stitch pattern; however, each side looks slightly different. One side will appear to have the MC as the dominant color, and the other side will appear to have C1-C5 as the dominant colors. You choose which side to designate as the right side, as this is purely preference.
Changing Colors: When changing colors at the end of each row, work the last stitch of the row with the old color, but do not work the final yarn-over to close the stitch. Work this yarn-over with the new color that you have been carrying across the row. Then drop the old color and continue crocheting with the new color. (See page 4 of the pattern or watch this video.)
