Helsing Hat
Sizes: S (M) L - kiddo, adult 1, adult 2 ● Level: 1/3 ● Helsing Hat is made for easy going life. It’s fast to make - with large needles it takes only one day. The work is also enjoyable - no twisted ribbing or counting stitches.
MATERIALS
-Yarn: 65, 70, 75 g Cascade 220 yarn (100% Peruvian Highland wool – 100 g/200 m/220 yds) and 20, 20, 20 g Gepard Kid Seta (70% super kid mohair, 30% silk - 25 g/210 m/230 yds). The hat is worked with holding both strands together.
-Needles: 4 mm (US6) 40 cm/16” circular needle and DPNs.
-Notions: 4 st marker (1 different for BOR-marker).
-Gauge: 24 sts x 23 rnds = 10 cm/4” of ribbing without any stretching.
Shown in kid’s and adult’s smaller size.
Kid: Cascade 220 yarn in colorway Forest green 8267 +
Gepard Kid Seta in colorway Forest green 884.
Woman: Cascade 220 yarn in colorway Vandyke brown 7822 + Gepard Kid Seta in colorway Cognag 1007.
**
TIP! You can work the pattern also with 4,5 mm (US7) needle if you want to use heavier yarns. Then just choose 1 size smaller than usually.
**
The hat is worked with holding 2 strands together, 1 wool and 1 silk mohair. The design is awesome: blurry mohair makes the timeless pattern to trendy one. You can choose yarns with similar colorways or use the mohair as a popping effect that - when held together with your main yarn - changes the shade of the fabric.
