Helford Jumper
Designed for the Hobbii Harmony campaign in Spring 2025 and chosen as one of their Pattern Plus patterns (link below) the Helford Sweater is named after the beautiful Helford River in Cornwall.
Difficulty
Working from the top down in the round you will create a double roll top neckline followed by a lace patterned yoke that then splits into body and sleeves. The body is finished with an off centre double roll hem. The sleeves, picked up from the yoke are knitted in the round and end with a lace flourish double hem to compliment the yoke.
The lace patterns are charted and written. Pick up instructions are provided for the sleeve and body with photo tutorial.
Materials
I used Hobbii Rainbow Bamboo a 60% bamboo viscose 40% cotton 4ply yarn which comes in 100g balls of 250 meters / 274 yards. There are nine sizes needing between 710 meters / 780 yards and 1600 meters / 1750 yards of yarn A (blue in the photos) and 70 meters / 78 yards and 165 meters / 183 yards in yarn B (mustard yellow in the photos).
You will also need 3.5mm (US 4) circular needles 30cm and 60cm together with either five 3.5mm (US 4) double pointed needles or small circular for the sleeves. Two stitch holders and two moveable stitch markers.
Finished size
With nine sies between 74 cm / 29 inch to 160cm / 63.25 inch chest and lengths between 55 cm / 21.5 inches and 57 cm / 22.25 inches. Sleeve measurement is 46 cm / 18 inches. It is designed to have a 4 cm / 2.25 inch positive ease.
This pattern has been tech edited and checked although we are all human so mistakes do happen. Please let me know if you encounter any difficulties.
