Knit pattern inspired by the fingerless mittens worn by Herminone in the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows movie.

Although this would be alot easy to make using worsted weight self striping yarn in the colors of natural white, pale pink, rose pink, deep dark berry, dark purple plum and a liliac/periwinkle and just knit up the Alice mittens and then turn inside out for the reverse stockinette affect.

But I dug through my scraps and found all the colors mostly in Caron simply soft, so I decided to make a garter stitch fingerless mitten.

This is not an exact replica because I believe the mittens are a smaller gauge and are definitely not garter stitch but I like projects that knit up quick and the garter stitch makes a thicker mitten. I have changed up the color chart pattern after knitting up the prototype. The contrasting dark bands have been changed and I removed the k1,p1 ribbing at the top of the hand.
