Glaucus Shawl
Glaucus was the name of Athena’s owl in Greek mythology. I felt like this shawl emanated a sense of class and wisdom, qualities which Athena was known for. The shape is vaguely reminiscent of the textured wings of an owl. The shawl starts in a simple single crochet, then evolves into an undulating section, which blooms into a triple crochet fan-lace pattern. Though a bit of a challenge, this shawl is a quick project, taking only a few hours.
Yarn: One skein each of Anzula’s Oasis in Lapis and Terra Cotta or any other DK weight yarn in two colorways.
Yardage: 375 yards per skein, 750 yards total
Crochet Hook: size G
Gauge: 14 st X 14 rows = 4” X 4” square
Finished wingspan: Approximately 60” tip to tip
