Flora
Flora is a pattern inspired by flowers. Each choice of colors for this pattern represents a different type of flower. The design is created by me (TGWTH) and Tante Setje. In daily life, we both are crochet designers and friends. As we attended one of the most significant craft events in the Netherlands, de Handwerkbeurs, we designed this beauty, especially for that moment. As this event has passed, now is the time to bring it further into the world.
For this pattern, we designed a special printed magazine edition that is still available in the Etsy shop in Dutch only. When purchasing the digital version of Flora, you will also receive the magazine - but in a digital version. Please note that the file you received is not print-friendly.
Some general information about the pattern:
Hook size needed: 3.0mm
Size: The diameter of the mandala will be 55cm/22 inches when finished. If you want to use a ring, please crochet the pattern first before getting a ring/hoop. The outcome may differ a bit due to the tension of crochet work.
Yarn used: Durable Coral and Durable Coral mini. This mercerized cotton is available in balls of 50 grams with a length of 125 meters and mini balls of 20 grams with a length of 50 meters. The yarn is 100% cotton.
You will need the following amounts of yarn for one mandala:
color A: 43 grams used – 108 meters
color B: 15 grams used – 38 meters
color C: 10 grams used – 25 meters
color D: 38 grams used – 95 meters
color E: 33 grams used – 83 meters
color F: 34 grams used – 86 meters
color G: 13 grams used – 33 meters
color H: 23 grams used – 58 meters
color I: 32 grams used – 81 meters
color J: 13 grams used – 33 meters
We made seven different color versions, each inspired by a different flower. You will find all the different color combinations and colors in the pattern.
Sitch use and level: The pattern holds regular crochet stitches, most of which will be related to the front post. It is necessary to have some crochet experience for this pattern as it would be rated as intermediate.
Languages and accessibility: The pattern is digitally available in Dutch and English (US). The printed magazine is only available in Dutch. After purchase, you can download your pattern as a PDF file in both languages.
The pattern holds written instructions with step-by-step photos. We have put a lot of detail in explaining this pattern. There are no videos available.
This pattern is designed with Tante Setje; if you want to know more about it here, check her website!
