Flightpath
From early autumn repose the geese call out, heralding their annual migration overhead. Their trumpet song reverberates clearly over the town square, high above the crimson and pumpkin-tipped trees. The V shape flows decisively across the storm gray sky, as if blanketing the small houses below with northern air from their wingtips. Wildlife bustles to prepare. Short bursts and dashes of energy alternated with longer rests. A time for turning- mindful changes are to be considered. With each flightpath that passes overhead, another layer of autumn is drawn over the community.
