Because neutrals had their moment. All colorwork patterns are 30% off through Monday, April 28.

Extra Lite Bright is the fingering-weight remix of Lite Bright, a design built for color, creativity, and yarn you already love. With the same relaxed silhouette and easygoing construction, this version brings all the fun of the original to your favorite sock yarns—with a lighter twist.

This is the kind of knit that invites you to play. Fade five colors or ten, go loud or low contrast, stash dive or pick up a kit! Extra Lite Bright features easy colorwork (no floats!) and a fade that’s planned for you, so you can spend less time guessing and more time knitting.

Custom Fade, Made Simple
Our fade calculator takes out all the guesswork. Just enter the number of colors you want to use, and we’ll help you space them perfectly. Match the sleeves to the body or do your own thing—either way, it’s going to look amazing.

Knit in fingering-weight yarn for a breathable, layerable tee or sweater that works all year. Choose short or long sleeves, soft fades or bold contrasts—whatever feels right.

Construction Overview

Extra Lite Bright is knit seamlessly from the top down, beginning with a shaped scoop neckline. The yoke is worked flat in one color through Steps 1–3, then joined in the round for the rest of the body and sleeves. A compound raglan gives balanced shaping across all sizes.

Once the yoke is complete, the body and sleeves are separated and worked in the round. Both short and long sleeve options are included. A ribbed collar lets you customize the neckline depth, and the 1x1 ribbing finishes everything off cleanly. Colorwork is done with easy repeats and no floats to catch.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Built for sock yarn: A stash-friendly tee or sweater you’ll actually wear.
  • Easy colorwork: No floats to catch
  • Fade your way: The fade formula handles the details, you bring the yarn.
  • Sleeve options: Short or long, depending on your vibe.

And if you’re already a fan of the DK-weight original, this lighter take brings the same joyful structure and silhouette—just with a lighter feel.

Finished Measurements

Choose a size with 2–6” (5–15 cm) of positive ease for a relaxed fit.

To figure out which size to knit, measure your full bust and add 2–6” depending on how you like your sweaters to fit. For example, if your bust measures 42”, the 46” size will give you 4” of ease.
