I absolutely love one-skein projects that show off variegated or heavily speckled yarn we love but don’t know what to do with. Thanks to the garter stitch and eyelet mesh, Easy on the Eyelets is a really wearable size, and is super easy to style with its crescent shape. Graduating mesh panels add visual interest and are fun to knit! I-cord edges keep everything neat and tidy. I used a super special variegated one-of-a-kind skein I dyed for my sample, but use any skein of fingering weight yarn with similar yardage!
This crescent-shaped shawl is worked from the top center to the bottom edge. An i-cord edging is worked simultaneously for a neat finish.
For results that look the most similar to the sample, use the suggested yarn base or a fingering weight yarn with at least 460 yards. Look for skeins that are 75% wool / 25% nylon, they typically have the appropriate yardage. Different fiber blends will likely have different yardage, so be sure to check when substituting yarn.
Some testers wound up low on yarn, but followed the instructions in the pattern and still ended up with gorgeous shawls! Add a mini skein if you’re concerned or typically run out of yarn.
