Dawn's Early Light
… a lovely, lacy poncho/shawl that shows the pride in our country – from the eyelet “stripes” to the lace stars, you’ll love this poncho. The sample is knit using approx 480 yards of fingering-weight cotton in a spectacularly patriotic colorway … reminiscent of fireworks exploding in the night sky.
The directions are both charted and round-by-round for this fun poncho that shows the lace beautifully.
This poncho is knit in the round from the neck to the hem and then blocked out into a perfect circle. If you would like to make an open shawl-style (a cardigan-poncho), there are notes at the end of the directions for creating an open shawl - remember that you’ll need to add about 100yds more yarn to the total needed (so about 580yds).
