Cuetlaxóchitl
The red flame-like cuetlaxóchitl (Nahuatl; pronounced kwet-la-sho-shel) blooms during the winter solstice and signals the start of a new cycle of life. Its name
translates into “mortal flower that perishes and withers like all that is pure.”
