Chevron Tie
Who knew it would be so easy to knit a professional looking tie? The Chevron Tie is knit in the round so it is visibly smooth and shiny from every angle. Pick a solid or self-striping yarn to make this chevron tie a hit at your next office meeting!
The Chevron Tie is knit in the round in a continuous chevron pattern starting from the thin end and increasing to the wider point. The pattern is designed with a sport weight yarn and smaller needles for a tighter knit that gives the tie an almost machine-made look. Knitting the tie in the round relieves the knitter of worrying about a right side and wrong side. It also creates a cleaner, more professional look all the way around the completed tie. All of these design elements make this project easy to knit and handsome to wear.
Size: 53” long, 3.5” wide at widest point.
NOTE: Tie may stretch with wear.
Gauge: 8 sts = 1” in Chevron Pattern in the round.
Yarn: 1 ball of Cascade Sateen, or 300 yards of sport weight yarn.
Sample Color: #3, Red.
OPTIONAL: Consider using multiple colors for a striped pattern.
Needles: Size US #3 double pointed needles, or any size necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Other Materials: Stitch marker, darning needle.
OPTIONAL: Tag/thin piece of fabric, sewing needle and thread.
