Checkerboard shawl
The Checkerboard shawl is a small necktie shawl with a big appearance.
You will use 2 colors of super-fine non-mercerized cotton. The best way to find a substitute is to look for a matte yarn that holds 170 m on a 50 g ball.
A few examples are:
-Mayflower Cotton 8/4
-Scheepjes Cotton 8
-Scheepjes Skies light (note: this yarn comes in 100 g skeins, so it has double the amount of meters, you’ll only need 1 skein per color)
-Scheepjes Sunkissed
-Scheepjes Organicon
-Järbo Nova Eko
-Sostrene Grene 8/4 cotton yarn
Crochet hook 3mm
Not a fan of working with 2 colors or carrying the yarn along? This pattern is not for you
-Skill level: advanced beginner
This pattern comes with both written instructions and a symbol chart.
Materials of example pink/green:
-I used 4 balls Mayflower cotton 8/4 (170 m/ 50 g), 2 x color: #1429 petrol green and 2 x color: #1448 Lemonda.
-Crochet hook 3 mm
Example is 47 x 76 cm, but the measurements are easy to adjust by simply continuing the pattern. If you want to make the shawl larger then the example, you will need more yarn.
All my patterns are available in Both English and Dutch. Both languages are included in this download.
