Breyde
Breyde is a now obsolete spelling of braid, and this shawl is full of braids!
It starts with a long narrow braid, from which stitches are picked up. The narrow braid continues around the corners and down the front edges.
The body of the shawl consists of a lacy cable pattern, which get wider at the bottom, giving the shawl a shape like a long curved stole.
The pattern has both charts and written instructions.
