These fun, cuff down socks help to show off a wonderful yarn with a decorative ribbed side cable, the knit stitches being worked through the back loop to give definition to the cable. The socks also feature a gusset heel and an Eye of Partridge heel flap. This unisex sock is designed to allow the colours of a handpainted yarn to shine though and would suit either solid or semi-solid yarns – it would look particularly fabulous in bold chunks of self striping yarn too.

Bleaberry Tarn sits below Red Pike in Buttermere – a favourite for family picnics. Bleaberry is also an old English word for Blackberry – which this lush purple yarn reminded me of.

This pattern is written for the magic loop technique but can be easily adapted for your preferred method of small circumference knitting.
